Notes from our members

March 28, 2008 - A thank you from Joy Crouch:

I am an awful procrastinator.  I have wanted to say Thank you to some people of the CYNBA for donations made to me at the last meeting for a 6 year old little boy with Leukemia. Whether you donated money or bought tickets for a raffle, I thank those of you who gave. Thank you so very much.

Austin's family very much appreciates all that is being done for him. My daughter, Roseangela, is hosting the Benefit for him at the American Legion in Pulaski on April 5th 2008. Anyone wishing information on this benefit can email me at Antionet1@aol.com  or call my cell phone at any time of the day or night. 315 529 4142.  Should anyone email please put (Austin's benefit) in the subject box...so I will know it is from a bluegrass association buddy. The donations I have received have gone in under Friends of Bluegrass for Austin. Should any one else care to donate contact me at above options.  And once again thank you so much to those of you who have already helped, Cathy C , Sharon F, Ann D, and Jackie K.

God Bless you.

February, 2008 - A Plea from Joy Crouch:

I would like to address ALL CNYBA members. A good share of you do not know me at all and may think, “Why bother with what she has to say?” Let me tell you why you should. I am not a learned person, no college degrees, no interest in politics. I won't argue religion or politics because of that fact; but I can see what's happening to this Bluegrass Association.

I am a plain and simple kind of person. I do believe in prayer, lots and lots of prayer.  Right now I am praying that you will ALL search your hearts and souls with open minds and see that WE, as a group, as an association, are in big trouble. There are many, many problems...even I can see that. One of the biggest problems is financial. At our monthly meeting on Sunday, January 13th, I proposed a partial solution for this one problem. I asked all members to donate just $1.00 per month, $12.00 per year. With about 290 members, that would bring our finances up by $3,480 and no one would go broke doing this. You get phone calls all year long asking for donations of $100, $50, $25 and so on. All I am asking is, please match my $12.00 donation as several people did that day. We raised $145.00 in a matter of minutes. I know some of you can and maybe will give more, and that would be wonderful. I am not asking anyone to go without things they need in their lives, but I am asking for your help. This association is our “family,” “our baby” to keep alive.

We will not be having the annual festival this year. What more will it take for folks to see:  we either need to help solve the problems, or pull the plug and let the association die with dignity.

I pray your choice will be to help with this one problem. I put in $12.00 this month for a year's worth of $1.00 donations. It is my plan to put in the same amount in each month, bringing my donation up to $12.00 per month, for a yearly contribution of $144.00. I hope each and every one of you who can will consider doing the same.

See you at our  February meeting. If you can't attend, feel free to send a donation to Cathy Campbell, 5897 N. Manlius St., Fayetteville, NY 13066.
