Central New York veteran musician Dan Duggan needs community's help in fight with cancer

This is quoted from an article by Mark Bialczak, March 10, 2009

"Friends of Dan Duggan are rallying the Central New York community to help the world-famous hammered dulcimer player from Red Creek, N.Y.

From Cathy Marczyk: "(Duggan) is currently undergoing treatment for recently diagnosed stage III tongue cancer. He is recovering at home from neck and tonsil surgery, and has been unable to perform or teach music, which are his only means of earning a living. This month, his treatment will continue with a course of radiation and chemotherapy that will last for six to eight weeks, and he will need several months after that to get back on his feet. We are asking all who can to help out financially by donating their change from now until the end of March. No amount is too small.

Duggan has been keeping an illuminating blog about his journey through the illness."
