Prayers requested for Danny Paisley, a Bluegrass favorite of ours, who suffered a pair of heart attacks over this past two weeks, and is now awaiting word from his physician about how to treat the blockages that were discovered in his arteries. Danny said that his last attack was a week ago, occuring late Sunday night (10/27). A catheterization was performed. He is resting at home now, and will soon find out whether they will perform surgery or perhaps install stents. Our best wishes and prayers go out to Danny and his family. Bluegrass Today (http://bluegrasstoday.com/) is following his progress.
Sharon Foultz, long time CNYBA member, has written us regarding a fundraiser for her daughter. Melinda not only has HHT, but now has been diagnosed with MS. Her oldest son (a soldier) was murdered November 5, 2013. Stress is not good for either of her conditions and worrying about money is not good either. In order for her to receive some of her care she has to fly off the island to go to Seattle to her Doctors. If you'd like to make a donation, go to: http://www.gofundme.com/4p2r8o
Sharon sends her thanks.
Update from Neil Smith: " It has been quite hectic lately, but we are finally getting back on our feet again. Aleks is back home from the hospital, and she has started her chemotherapy treatments. They expect that will last for about six months, and they plan to follow the chemotherapy with radiation. The treatments are not easy, but she is tolerating the chemotherapy reasonably well. We really appreciate all of the support that we have received from the CNYBA." Please pray for CNYBA members Aleks and Neil Smith. Aleks has been diagnosed with cancer and recently had emergency surgery.
Cards can be sent to the Smiths at 4524 Waltham Drive, Manlius, NY 13104
Congratulations to our old time music friends (Bill Knowlton calls them the "young fogies"), North Water. Dana Klipp recently released a solo CD-(details can had by emailing email@example.com). We'll be broadcasting a small radio performance in conjunction with WCNY 91.3 in the very near future. I (Cliff Chandler) am releasing a CD in December by 'The Erie Canal Boys' titled 'Discriminate'.

...and received November 13: We have some good news about Ray - he got the results of Monday's scan and the tumor, while still there, has not grown. Please keep praying! And I hope we'll see many of you on Sunday at "Rayfest"!
Latest update on Ray Delaney (November 8, 2013): Latest note from the Delaneys
Beginning in October, Ray started having chemo in Homer. It was scary at first since we were so happy with everyone in Boston, but it has worked out great and soooooo nice being close to home. He has had the last three treatments there which totals nine treatments, so it is time for a second CT scan to see how the chemo is working. We are leaving Sunday for Boston to have the CTscans and see Dr. Zhu and Angela, our paliative care person. We will be home Wednesday, Nov. 13 - pray for good results!!
Pain management is the biggest challenge so we looked into having a celiac plexus nerve block that would block some of the pain from the liver. After speaking with a pain management specialist at MGH, Ray decided to wait and save it as an option for later. It takes Ray a couple of days to recoup from the chemo, but he is really doing very well - eating and sleeping well and we walk two miles every day. Now that the weather is getting colder, there isn't as much to do outside so call anytime to say hello. The outpouring of positive support for Ray has been so overwhelming - we can't begin to tell you what it means. We want to send out a special thank you to Peter McDonald, Bill Knowlton and all those participating in the RayFest bluegrass concert organized in Ray's honor on November 17 at the Center for the Arts in Homer. I have attached a flier and there is info. on the Delaney Brothers facebook page. It will be an incredible afternoon - hope to see you there. Thanks again for all the prayers, support, and healing thoughts you have been sending to surround Ray. All our love,
Ray, Vicky (and Ruby)
